OUR STORY

Rooted in history. Crafted for today.

People are crushing grapes with their feet in a large wooden barrel.

At Symposium Cellars, wine is more than a drink. It's a bridge to centuries of tradition, conversation, and culture.
Inspired by ancient symposiums where ideas and wine flowed freely, we craft modern Greek wines rooted in excellence and authenticity.

Our Journey

2012
Founder and Chairman David Wittig was inspired by Father Alex Karloutsos, a prominent figure in Greek Orthodoxy, to explore opportunities in Greece.
2016
Symposium Cellars is founded. Wine label 14/27 is launched — a tribute to the symposiums of Aristotle where 14 to 27 individuals gathered.
2019
Periklis Drakos and Kiki Panagiotou join the team. Symposium leases Noema Winery in Amyntaio, Northern Greece.
Today
Symposium Cellars continues expanding partnerships across Greece, crafting high-quality wines and redefining modern Greek winemaking.
Picnic setup on grass with a bottle of rosé wine, two glasses of wine, a bowl of strawberries, a bowl of green grapes, a cheese plate, and a picnic basket with a red checkered cloth, surrounded by flowers and greenery.
Four glasses of wine on a table, casting shadows and reflections.

"We don’t just make wine. We tell stories of land, lineage, and legacy."
